Our 'Cellar to Ceiling' event was very interesting to regular participants as well as new. This started with the photograph on the promotion poster, which most had not seen before. (It included an enclosed balcony, laundry on the south side and enclosed verandah on the north.)
Visitors can always see into the cellar via the glass trapdoor but access to the ceiling cavity has never been open before. A video showed some of the roof trusses, rafters and chimneys.
The Bay of Biscay soil under the main room floor was on display, as was the spandrell under the main staircase. (We don't have our own Harry Potter living there!)
Information about the main building structure included the anchor plates on the outside of the main walls.
91 visitors attended.
